In Alcudia we decided to stay in the old town area that is located 2-3 kilometers inland from the beach part of town. The area dates back to 16th century and surrounded by a wall that can be walked on top of. After few minute walk on cobblestone streets, we were greeted by the amazing staff at Hotel Can Mostatxins. The first impressions of the hotel were the perfect combination of old with exposed brick walls and the modern interior design. Built into a 15th-century olive presser and characterized by original mason-built walls combined with modern, clean design. The staff with Valentina and Aurora were so adorable and made sure that we were at home from the first minute inside the doors. A 90-minute drive from Sóller where we came from and 45-minute drive if you come from Palma de Majora instead. Alcudia's tourist area by the beach is a few minute drive away. You have to park outside the walls and walk a few minutes to get to the hotel. The old town area dates back to 12th century when the coastal areas frequently were attacked by pirates and built the town inland and protected by the wall. Smaller window with limited light but that was never an issue for us. Quiet streets without cars and very relaxing. Like the rest of the hotel a perfect balance of old and new design. A complimentary bottle of cava waited for us in the room that was enjoyed in the jacuzzi later that night.
